Coausoles was created in the 70’s during the El Salvadorian land reforms. It is one of the few remaining cooperatives in Santa Ana
region after the decimation of the country’s coffee industry in 2008/09 when the Rust epidemic destroyed 70% of the countries production.
Good membership relationships, certification and strong leadership has enabled Coausoles to continue operating under difficult circumstances.
They joined the Blue Harvest program in order to build producer resilience and gain market access. .
